Just more progress thought may need posting give any advice. I started using the lattice deformers and my character is looking better everytime i change something. It still gives him the blocky shape while giving him added dimension and a slight curvature to his form
MUCH better! I know that you spent lots of time on this--very happy to see your technical skills progressing quickly (you used the floating menus excellently). Just keep going... You are on the right track. Keep the goal of: no boxes. And VERY big kudos on helping your fellow student. That is an invisible skill that will serve you well into the future (art directors love to observe it)... gold star to you!
